Your Therapy Journey

Therapy with Rachel

People come to therapy because something in life isn’t working the way they hoped. Sometimes they know exactly what’s wrong, and sometimes they don’t. They may have spent months or years trying to figure it out on their own. Therapy offers the opportunity to slow down, become curious, and begin to understand yourself in a different way.

I believe that when we understand ourselves more clearly, we stop reacting automatically and begin responding intentionally. That shift creates the opportunity for meaningful change.

How I Think About Therapy

I believe that each of us has the capacity for growth, insight, and meaningful change. Sometimes difficult experiences, fear, self-doubt, or old patterns make it difficult to hear our own voice or trust what we already know.

Therapy provides the opportunity to slow down, become curious, and better understand yourself so that you can begin making choices that reflect who you are and what matters most to you.

When we understand ourselves more clearly, we become free to choose differently.
Therapy is a collaborative process

I don’t believe therapy is about me telling you how to live your life. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative process. You bring your experiences, strengths, and goals. I bring my training, perspective, and curiosity. Together, we’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, what is working, what isn’t, and where you would like your life to go.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes they know exactly what’s wrong, and sometimes they simply know that something isn’t working the way they hoped. They may have spent months—or even years—trying to figure it out on their own. Therapy offers the opportunity to gain perspective, explore new possibilities, and move toward the life they want with greater intention and confidence.

people change best when they feel safe

I also believe that people change best when they feel safe. There is no expectation that you share everything right away. Trust develops over time, and my goal is to create an environment where you feel heard, respected, and accepted without shame or judgment. If you aren’t sure how you’re feeling, that’s okay. We can discover that together.

My hope for you

Over time, my hope is that you’ll gain confidence in your own voice. I want you to understand yourself more clearly, identify what truly matters to you, and begin making decisions that reflect your values rather than reacting out of fear, old patterns, or the expectations of others. My hope is that you leave therapy knowing you don’t have to apologize for having needs, taking up space, living according to your values, or being who you are.

When you're ready, I'm here to support you in finding your way back to yourself.
